Abstract
Adopting a good strategy for modeling a dynamic system is a key step to obtain equations of motion in an appropriate form for analytical or numerical treatments. Through the Modular Modeling Methodology (MMM), mathematical models are obtained based on a hierarchical conception of dynamic systems, in which the equations of motion can be derived from those describing subsystems, along with relations expressing the constraints. Constraint enforcement is performed a posteriori, in a recursive way, following the hierarchy proposed by the user. The seminar will introduce the methodology and illustrate some of its applications for problems in the field of Fluid-Structure Interactions
